Newcastle Vikings @ Glasgow Tigers Game Report

The Vikings travelled to Scotland for their first ever BAFA National League game with a small but committed squad to take on the Glasgow Tigers at Lochinch.
They came away with a convincing 46-8 victory in all 3 areas of the game. The offense ticked straight away, the defence was completely dominate holding Glasgow to 138 yards and no points, and the special teams also performed well.
The Vikings took the lead early on with a 26yard pass completion from QB Nick Whitehead to new recruit Junior Mcdonald with Anthony Sowerby running in the 2PAT to go ahead 8-0.
The lead was increased just before half time when Danny Bomken topped a drive from halfway with a 2 yard run to the end zone, the time the 2PAT was no good
Half Time Newcastle Vikings 14 Glasgow Tigers 0
Newcastle completely dominated the third quarter scoring 3 touchdowns, including Nick Whitehead passes all to Danny Bomken, I of 16 yards, 1 of 24 yards and the last one of 40yards.
A defensive touchdown in the final quarter finished off Glasgow when Dick Carr sacked the Glasgow QB in the end zone and the ball was recovered by another recruit Davis Parker playing his first game for the Vikings.
Overall a sound positive start to the season for the Vikings who must not get overconfident and expect other teams to now come to prepared to match them yard for yard.
Although we saw a tremendous team performance by the entire Vikings team it would be wrong to not highlight the Ironman performance of Danny Bomken who not only played all three phases of this game but excelled in all three.

MVP’s were
Offense -Matt Caley
Defence- Damyan Georgiev
Team -Danny Bomken
